Matt is adjusting to being a working parent quite well. Good thing Silas is very interesting in hearing all about the letters Matt is drafting and the legal research he is completing.
We've had lots of visitors, including the usual suspects like Aunt Morgan and Uncles Russ and Scott, Aunt Liz, Uncle John and Aunt Heather, Suzzanne and Nate, Uncle Jon, Hilary, Mara and Louie. We're trying to do a better job of taking pictures of the people who come visit, but here are a few.
We also celebrated Taylor's 30th birthday. Gran came and baked a delicious hummingbird cake and then meanly lit 30 candles for Taylor to blow out. We're lucky the smoke detectors didn't go off.
The next weekend, Silas' Mimi came to visit and was kind enough to take care of Silas for the evening while Taylor and Matt went out to enjoy dinner together.
We headed down to NC for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. Silas was great in the car--he slept the whole way and only asked to nurse twice on the way down. He enjoyed meeting his Uncle Haig and really enjoyed Grandpapa's chest. He also very much enjoyed all of the ECU paraphernalia purchased for him by Grandpapa.
He also met his Great-Grandmama, who thinks he's pretty wonderful, and our good friends Lane, Jerry, Mark, Lorin and Laney.
Lorin took some amazing pictures of Silas, one of which we used for his birth announcement.
After Thanksgiving, Silas met his first friends, Adam and Isaac. Two of Taylor's coworkers had baby boys around the same time as Silas was born and, although you can't tell it from the picture, we have a feeling that these boys will become good buddies in the future.
